With the founding of the institution in 2018, the Department of Physics got underway. The department provides a B.Sc. in Physics as an undergraduate program. The study program will last three years, and as of 2010, the University of Kerala has instituted a semester system for degree programs. This curriculum is known as the First Degree Programme in Physics ˗ Choice Based Credit and Semester System. The course contain six semesters having duration of 3 years. Being the sole undergrad program in Physics in this remote location, the department has appropriately reacted to community expectations by accepting average academic and economically backward students.
Presently the department has 2 permanent faculty members and three guest faculties.

The department offers undergraduate degree in Physics. The University of Kerala's Choice Based Credit Semester System forms the basis of the three-year undergrad curriculum. The complementary courses in the programme are Chemistry and Mathematics.
Eligibility Criteria: The applicant needs to be an Indian national. He or she needs to have graduated from an accredited board with an intermediate degree. The candidate had to take science courses in their 12th grade year, with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as their required subjects.
How to get Admission: Not all of our programs accept students directly. The University of Kerala's Centralized Online Admission System allows students to select their seats. To confirm their seats, the candidates must take part in multiple rounds of the university's allotment process.
3. Open Course: The department offers an open course Environmental Physics for all students from other departments in their fifth semester.
