Women's Cell

The Women's Studies Cell is part of the Women’s Development Studies started by the U.G.C. Women’s cell of Sree Sankara College began with the intention of empowering and enabling women to see their own potential and carve out a place for themselves in a cutthroat world. The main objectives of the cell include enhancing self-esteem and self-confidence among women students and staff.

The cell seeks to raise awareness and gives women a forum to express their opinions and experiences about their place in society as well as ideas for self-improvement and empowerment. The college offers a number of programs aimed at raising student awareness of issues pertaining to women through lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and welfare activities. The Cell works to support students' growth by assisting them in resolving both academic and personal issues.

OBJECTIVES:
(i) To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.

(ii) To assert the importance of spiritual, economic, social, racial and gender equality.

(iii) To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the College.

(iv) To safeguard the rights of female students, faculty and staff members.
