Independence day celebration 2024 | National Service Scheme
On the 15th of August, Sree Sankara College celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Dr. Ambu R.Nair, Assistant Professor of the Department of English. This was followed by the singing of the national anthem, which filled the air with a sense of pride and unity.
As part of the celebration, an oath-taking ceremony against drug abuse was conducted. The oath was administered by Jyothika T Joy to all present, reaffirming the commitment of the students and staff to combat the menace of drug abuse.
NSS Programme Officer, Keerthi Krishna, addressed the volunteers, emphasizing the significance of Independence Day and the importance of active participation in nation-building activities.
To mark the occasion, Volunteer Secretary Siva Hari planted a tree sapling, symbolizing growth and the college's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The event concluded on a hopeful note, with the participants resolving to work towards a better and drug-free society, while also contributing to the nation's progress.
